Jones Falls

A short 20 minute drive from Gananoque, Jones Falls is an excellent spot for a family picnic or an exquisite dinner. Jones Falls is on the Rideau canal system and boasts several manually operated locks, built in the 1830s, which allow boats to move up and down the canal system. Its fun to just sit back and watch the locks in operation. There are great spots for picnics or you can eat at the historic Kenney hotel, which has a snack bar or a remarkable dining room.

Charleston Lake

This Ontario Provincial Park is the heart of the UNESCO Frontenac Arch Biosphere. If that sounds too much like a school project, we'll just tell you that Charleston Lake offers great beaches and fantastic woods to explore about 35 minutes Northeast of Gananoque.
